The Business Plan Competition is open to all University of Bristol undergraduates, postgraduates and alumni from 2006 onwards, giving them the unique opportunity to develop a business plan with help of a mentor and win £400. The competition consists of 3 rounds; Beer Mat, Business Plan and Pitch, but no one gets knocked out of the competition until the end of the business plan round. You don't have to enter all the rounds and you can join the competition at any point.

Beer Mat Round

Launch November 3rd, End 1st December

This is the first chance to test how good your business ideas are. Simply find a Bristol Entrepreneurs beer mat in and around University, write your business idea on the back and post it in the boxes that will be named on the beer mat. You can enter as many beer mats as you like. The best entries (top 10) will each win £5 and the winners will be announced at the Casino Networking Evening at Java in November/ Early December.

Business Plan Round - tbc

The next stage is to submit your written business plan which can be downloaded from this page. Remember you can enter without having taken part in the earlier round. The deadline for submission will be January 2010 and finalist will be announced at our first event of 2010, in January where a specialist will be explaining what investors look for in a pitch.

Pitching Round - tbc

Finalist will have to pitch their idea to a judging panel and answer questions about their business plan. The final will take place on the February/March 2010 and the £400 cash prize will be awarded at the Business Plan Competition Winners Evening, immediately afterwards.
